Wefi donates food items to adopted wards

As part of its ongoing commitment to holistic community care, the Women Empowerment Foundation International (WEFI), led by Madam Sonia Adjei, extended its support to children under its care through a food donation drive for its adopted wards. Recognizing that stable nutrition is foundational to a child’s physical growth, cognitive development, and overall wellbeing, WEFI organized the distribution of essential food items to wards the foundation has taken responsibility for, many of whom come from vulnerable backgrounds where consistent access to nutritious meals is not guaranteed.

The donation effort reflects WEFI’s broader philosophy that empowerment begins with meeting a child’s most basic needs before education, therapy, or skills training can take full effect. Volunteers and staff worked to identify the specific needs of each ward, ensuring that the food items provided were practical, sufficient, and appropriate for growing children. Beyond the immediate relief of hunger, the initiative also served as an opportunity for WEFI’s team to check in on the wellbeing of each child, reinforcing the sense of care and continuity that defines the foundation’s relationship with the young people it supports.

This food donation is one piece of WEFI’s larger, ongoing investment in its adopted wards, complementing the foundation’s work in education, mental health services through its Hope Center, and economic empowerment programs. Madam Adjei’s approach continues to emphasize that sustainable change for vulnerable children requires consistent, wraparound support rather than one-time gestures, positioning WEFI as a steady presence in the lives of the wards it has committed to uplift.
